Description: Approximately 1.1 million children in prekindergarten through 12th grade experienced unstable housing during the 2020-2021 school year, according to the National Center for Homeless Education. Children living in unstable housing are more likely to suffer from poor physical, mental, and sexual health outcomes, as well as commit suicide. Learn how unstable housing interrelates with substance use and HIV risk along with several promising interventions for addressing substance use and HIV risk during this webinar.
This webinar is provided by the DEI Task Force, and this topic was requested by SPN members.
Outcome: 80% of participants will have Increased confidence and ability in caring for youth experiencing homelessness, using substances, and at risk for HIV based upon knowledge gained from the webinar.
