Pediatric Fellowship Chapter 10 Module: Growth & Development
Description
SPN Pediatric Fellowship Course - Growth & Development
The SPN Pediatric Fellowship Course is a multi-module, online course that is designed to help transition nurses from adult health nursing to the pediatric specialty through in-depth education focused on topics that are critical within our unique specialty.
Practice Change:This course enables the learner to correlate physical, cognitive and psychological milestones to chronological age and development stage, assess the developmental stage of children, and adapt nursing care to meet the needs of children based on their developmental age. This module educates experienced adult nurses who transition into pediatric nursing roles but lack experience and/or knowledge of child development. It also includes adolescent considerations, including gender identity and sexual preferences.
